Next year, St. Charles will welcome a new commercial hub to its east side. The St. Charles City Council gave the green light in July for Fox Haven Square, a 7.5-acre retail and dining destination near Charlestowne Mall.

“This project will bring unique amenities that will enhance the City’s east side and become a destination that will draw visitors from all over the area,” said Mayor Lora Vitek.

The proposed development will revitalize vacant land in an existing commercial area along a major east side thoroughfare. Spearheaded by Bartlett-based Greco Investment Management, LLC, the development will break ground spring 2025 at E. Main Street and N. Kirk Road, between the Jewel Osco and Old Second National Bank.

“We are most excited about the economic and social lift to the local residents and surrounding communities that Fox Haven Square is poised to deliver,” said Pat Greco, owner of Greco Investment Management, LLC. “This development will continue to elevate the Fox Valley suburbs and raise the tides for all of our great local businesses.”

Plans include four buildings comprised of a blend of retail and dining establishments and the city's first and only privately-owned indoor and rooftop pickleball complex. The 20,000-square-foot, two-story pickleball facility will showcase a barn-inspired design and include a restaurant.

The development also will incorporate a central plaza, a shared parking lot with 434 spaces, a valet/drop-off area, public sidewalk along Kirk Road, and cross access to the Charlestowne Mall property, among other features.

“Fox Haven Square will feature an open-air, piazza-style layout designed to serve as a destination where local residents and visitors can fulfill all their lifestyle needs, offering a blend of hospitality, entertainment, fitness, and shopping options,” Greco said, adding that live music, and holiday displays and events will be offered at the outdoor plaza throughout the year.

Other Greco family ventures in St. Charles include Pheasant Run Industrial Park and Royal Fox Country Club.

“St. Charles is a vibrant, family-oriented community that continues to attract more residents, and thus, lends to continued investment in local businesses and commercial real estate,” said Greco, whose family ties to St. Charles go back four generations. “We are living proof that this city is a great place to raise a family and operate family businesses.”
